The CCDO Smart Card scheme offers a logical pathway from Apprentice to Manager. The CCDO Demolition Chargehand card teaches individuals the skills required to function as a team leader on demolition sites. Holders will already have 5 years demolition experience and will learn to supervise less experienced operatives and perform additional duties such as preparation and delivery of site inductions. The red card is valid for 3 years and is non-renewable. Red cardholders must complete NVQ Level 3 within the 3-year timeframe to convert the card to a fully qualified Silver Chargehand card.
Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with RAMS.
Reporting to site supervisor.
Delivering Tool Box Talks.
Team Leader directing and working alongside operatives.
Preparation and delivery of site inductions.
Must hold the red (3 Year) CCDO Chargehand card or have a minimum of 5-years Demolition Industry experience. To obtain a 5-year Demolition Chargehand card you must meet all the pre-requisites; have completed the 2-day course and passed NVQ Level 3.
Current Demolition Specialist or above Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Touchscreen Test Pass.
You can complete the 2 day CCDO Chargehand course at NDTG venues nationwide.
You must hold a current Asbestos Awareness Certificate (as a minimum). Other higher level Asbestos Training will be accepted. You can only obtain your Asbestos Awareness Certificate through NDTG, UKATA, ARCA, or ACAD (not E-Learning).
